Born in Peterborough in 1936, I was educated at Peterborough County School, Sheffield High School, and St Andrew High School, Kingston, Jamaica.
Returning to the UK I then went to Bristol University, where I gained an Upper Second Class

Honours Degree in English, French, and Latin in 1957, and a Certificate in Education in 1958.
I held teaching posts, first at Taunton Girls’ Grammar School, and then at Eothen School, Caterham, before taking time off to raise a family - one son and one daughter.
As the children were growing older I looked for some part time employment that I could fit around their needs, and started a business teaching efficient reading methods to schools and business personnel.
Later in life I switched from teaching to advising consumers, working for a local government department, and gaining a Diploma in Consumer Affairs.
Now officially retired, I cannot seem to stop looking for fresh projects. I became a qualified proofreader, and worked from home in this capacity. Then, two years ago I decided to embark on a novel! Apart from writing I enjoy playing Bridge and Bowls, and am happiest when in the company of family and friends.
